Church growth is a divine necessity! It is not an option, it is not a bonus, it is the will of God! Jesus Himself said:
I will build my Church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)
God wants His Church to grow, to explode, and to fill the whole earth! So why are we often so hesitant about this expansion? Why is the Church not growing as it should? The answer is simple: we are not carrying God’s vision!
If God desires the salvation of multitudes, then His Church must pursue this goal with zeal and passion! The time for hesitation is over! It is time to align ourselves with God’s will, to understand why the Church must grow, and how we can collaborate with the Holy Spirit to see this growth fulfilled.
God wants to see His Church filled! This is not merely a human ambition, it is His burden! Let’s look at this:
Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. (Luke 14:23)
The heart of God is a missionary heart. He desires to see as many people as possible saved, delivered, and transformed.
When we understand this, we realize that the small-minded mentality that makes us settle for churches of 50, 100, or 200 people is outside of God’s will. No! The Lord wants multitudes! He wants to see His kingdom extend to the ends of the earth so that none may perish, but that all may be saved! This divine desire has been declared time and again in the Scriptures!
The smallest one will become a thousand, and the least one a mighty nation. (Isaiah 60:22)
If the Church grows, it is not just for the sake of numbers, it is so that the number of souls saved from hell increases! Every Sunday, stadiums are packed for a mere ball game. Thousands of people gather to shout, applaud, and celebrate a simple game. But how many are willing to mobilize the same effort to save the souls that are perishing?
The problem is NOT a lack of God’s power! The problem is a Church that is asleep! A Church that is not pursuing what Christ pursues! If we are not interested in the growth of the Church, we have missed the very purpose of our calling!
Church growth is not just about numbers, it represents the impact of God’s kingdom on the earth. A strong Church influences society, impacts families, and transforms nations!
When God commands His people to multiply, it is not just to count how many we are, it is for a divine expansion! A massive Church can dictate the laws of a nation! When thousands and thousands of people are won to Christ, they influence the economy, politics, and culture of a country!
In a multitude of people is a king’s glory. (Proverbs 14:28)
The larger the Church, the more God’s kingdom is glorified! The Church cannot be weak, hidden, or marginal. No! It must be visible, strong, and undeniable!
If we want to see presidents who fear God, magistrates filled with the Holy Spirit, and enterprises led by committed Christians, then the Church must be massive! We will not accomplish the mission by staying locked inside small, quiet gatherings. There must be a massive growth push!
The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers. (Matthew 9:37-38)
The problem has never been the harvest! The harvest is ready! The souls are ready! What is lacking are workers, preachers, pastors, evangelists, and servants devoted to God’s work!
If you are a pastor, understand this: YOU CANNOT DO EVERYTHING ALONE! You must raise an army! You must multiply spiritual sons and daughters, establish shepherds, train cell leaders, and send out missionaries. Otherwise, growth will always stagnate!
Prayer is the weapon that triggers spiritual breakthroughs! A praying Church is a Church that grows powerfully!
The larger a Church grows, the more intercessors there are, and the more intense prayer becomes! The devil fears a Church on fire, a Church that prays non-stop, that rises at dawn to intercede, that spiritually covers the city, the nation, the continent!
Revival movements in history have always been preceded by a wave of prayer! No powerful move of God has ever been unleashed without men and women first spending hours in prayer!
Father, today, I refuse to have a limited mindset. I refuse to think small! I refuse to believe that Church growth is optional! Lord, give me the burden of Your heart! Instill in me this insatiable thirst for the salvation of souls! Increase my intimacy with You so that I may bear abundant fruit!
Renew my vision! I want to be a powerful instrument in contributing to the expansion of Your kingdom! Lord, make my Church a Church of multitudes! Make me a worker in Your harvest! Today, I choose to embrace Your vision and to build with You a strong, visible, and influential Church!
In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen!
Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am lost without You. I believe that You died for my sins and that You rose again. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Transform my life and use me for Your glory! Amen.
