The spiritual reality of claims – Ps Alexandre AMAZOU

The spiritual reality of claims

What you leave but doesn’t leave you becomes a legal basis for claiming you.

Yes, you can be a Christian, born again, regularly attend church, fervent in prayer… and still be claimed! But what does that mean? What does it imply? And above all, on what basis can the devil legally claim your life? The Word is clear:

Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. (Luke 22:31)

This wasn’t a vague threat. It was a legal spiritual procedure! You can speak in tongues, preach powerfully, fast for 40 days – if you give the devil a legal basis, he will claim you. Listen carefully: as long as your inner Simon isn’t dead, you will be easy prey for the accuser of our souls. The time has come to understand, discern, and neutralize spiritual claims.

Understanding the nature of spiritual claims

A claim, in its essence, is an insistent demand made before authority, for a legally grounded right. Spiritually, this means that Satan, the accuser, comes before the throne of God to demand what he believes is legally his. Revelation 12:10 tells us that he “accuses the saints day and night.” This is not symbolic. He claims based on arguments. He stands before God, not with physical weapons, but with judicial evidence: he says to God, “You cannot bless this man, look what he did,” or “You must allow me to reach him, for he is in violation of Your principles.”

This is serious. If it doesn’t affect you today, know that it will catch up with you sooner or later. Because Satan doesn’t claim into the void. He never claims without substance. He claims because there is a right, a foundation he has been given, often unintentionally.

And this right can be individual, collective, or generational. Remember: what you walk away from that hasn’t left you, what has not been dealt with, what has not been erased… will pursue you. Israel came out of Egypt, but Egypt never came out of them. The result? Pharaoh gave chase. Why? Because there was a claim, a spiritual debt incurred through their slavery. What they had left refused to let them go. And it’s the same for you if you refuse to renounce your old self. Peter had seen Jesus, had even received his new name: “You are Peter.” But it was Simon, the old man, whom Satan claimed. Jesus didn’t say: “Peter, Peter.” No. He said: “Simon, Simon.” Why? Because what you refuse to let die becomes the legal doorway for the devil into your life. The Simon you refuse to crucify condemns you to be sifted.

Claims: a matter of spiritual law

Stop thinking that a claim is a metaphor. It is a heavenly legal reality. Satan doesn’t claim at random: he claims on the basis of what you do, of what your ancestors did, and of what you refuse to abandon. With every unconfessed sin, every act of disobedience, every corrupt word, you open a breach in your life. Listen to me: claims don’t stop at conversion. Once saved, every season of your life involves resetting your spiritual account. You can’t say: “I’ve already dealt with this!” No! At every season, at every new level of your destiny, Satan checks:

  • Is there still a door?
  • Can I still claim him through this weakness?

And believe me, he often finds one. Because he knows claims continue as long as spiritual debts remain unsettled.

So what is a claim in practice? It’s a spiritual claim, often transgenerational, based on an unpaid debt. You think you’re free, but your life is locked down because a family covenant, a spoken word, or a persistent habit gives the devil legal authority. This is why every Christian must identify the source of their battles.

  • Why this endless cycle of poverty?
  • Why hasn’t marriage happened?
  • Why has your child become your own tormentor?
  • Why does a ministry collapse just as it begins to rise?

Claims affect your destiny, your finances, your health, your marriage. And if you don’t settle the debt, you leave your children the heavy burden of paying it. Because an unpaid spiritual debt is a generational time bomb.

Natural inheritance: the main gateway

A man’s life is influenced by his blood, his DNA, his parental inheritance. Each of us is the sum of his mother and father. At your birth, you receive 46 chromosomes, the biological union of your parents. But these chromosomes don’t just carry your complexion or height. They also carry spiritual information: transgenerational iniquities, ancestral covenants, curses, unbroken habits. If your father was angry, if your mother was initiated, if your grandfather made pacts, all these things remain in your spiritual DNA until you identify and neutralize them once and for all.

Remember Moses. A spiritual giant. A man qualified by God Himself. But at the twilight of his life, he was stopped cold. Why? Because of anger. An anger he didn’t produce but inherited. In Genesis 49, God declares over Levi – Moses’ tribe – that they will be cursed for their anger. And when Moses strikes the rock at Meribah in anger, the claim of Levi is activated. And God says: “You will not enter the Promised Land.” There it is! You can be anointed, a servant of God, a recognized prophet, an intense worshipper – but as long as a cursed family covenant exists, you will go no further.

You’ve done nothing, yet you’re struck. You suffer, but it’s your forefathers’ faults. You want to succeed, but a word pronounced 20 years ago is blocking your ascent. That’s why you must face it. It’s not enough to denounce. You must restore spiritual order through the cross.

Settling claims through a life of prayer and spiritual sacrifice

Jesus didn’t say to Peter: “I exempt you from being claimed.” No! He said: “I have prayed for you.” And He didn’t pray just for the danger to pass… He prayed for his faith to endure! Because He knew: Peter would be sifted. Peter would fall. But it wouldn’t be the end. The Christian life is not a life without attack. It’s a life where faith does not fail despite the attacks.

Victory over claims requires revelation and intercession. Don’t settle for superficial prayers. Dive into the truth. Ask God:

  • Show me the hidden Simon in me!
  • Reveal to me the covenants that are claiming me!

And once truth is revealed, commit to breaking every foundation through the Word and sacrifice.

God only responds where a price has been paid. You want out of a cycle? Prepare to sacrifice. Sacrifice isn’t a technique, it’s a spiritual language. In 2 Kings 3, the king of Moab sacrifices his son to turn the battle. It’s just a principle: the ransom of a man’s life is his wealth, says the Word. If you choose not to invest in your spiritual battle, be ready to pay with your life what you refuse to give to God.

So live a life of perpetual sacrifice. Every 6 months, revisit your altar, your heart, your tithe, your position before God. The day of trouble comes for everyone. It’s not a question of if. It’s a question of when. But if your altar is ready, if your sacrifice speaks, you will be exempted. And even if you fall, your faith won’t fail. Because God is searching for a generation that understands that spiritual battles are won on their knees. He’s looking for people who will say: “Lord, I am responsible for my lineage. Let the cycle stop with me!”

Let’s pray together

Lord, today I acknowledge that claims have been made against my life. By ignorance, by inheritance, or by sin. But I come before Your throne. I refuse to live forever under the oppression of unsettled spiritual debts. I want to walk in the light, expose the works of the enemy, and live a bright, free, and glorious life. Holy Spirit, reveal to me the open doors. Give me the humility to repair the breaches, the strength to sacrifice, the perseverance to pray. Let this be the last day I am legally claimed. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

You’ve never given your life to Jesus?

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I have lived far from You. Today I come, just as I am, and I ask You to forgive my sins. I believe You died for me, that You paid the ransom for my life. I accept You as Savior and Lord. Lead me into truth. Amen.
