NECESSITY TO GROW IN FAITH TO WALK WITH GOD | Apostle Yves CASTANOU

The faith that walks with God: a non-negotiable journey

“Where is your faith?” This is the question that still echoes in my mind—the question Jesus asked His own disciples in the storm. And today, it is the same question the Lord is asking you. Brother, sister, where is your faith?

Jesus was on the boat, Jesus was present, and yet there was a storm. Jesus was in the boat, and yet the water was rising. Jesus was in the boat, and still they were in danger. Let us face a staggering truth: just because Jesus is with you doesn’t mean you won’t face the storm. Just because you pray doesn’t mean the devil won’t raise seasons of battle against you. But what God is looking for is one thing: does your faith stand when everything is shaking?

In Luke 8, Jesus said to His disciples, “Let’s go over to the other side.” It was a prophetic instruction. It was a call to move to another level, a command to shift dimensions. But between God’s word and its manifestation, there will always be a storm. And that storm will locate one thing: your faith! Where is your faith? If your faith is just a nice Sunday declaration, it will fail. But if your faith is alive, if it is rooted in total trust in the One who spoke to you, then that faith will pass through the storm and take you to the other side.

You cannot grow without faith. You cannot walk with God without faith. You cannot see the promises of God without faith. Paul said it: “The righteous shall live by faith” (Habakkuk 2:4). And without faith, it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6). You want to please God? Then embrace a life of faith. You want to rise? Then let your faith rise. You want to move forward spiritually? Then grow your faith!

Obedience: the first indicator of a living faith

Look at Abraham. The one called the father of faith. His faith wasn’t arrogant. His faith was obedient. God said to him, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household…” and he went. He didn’t even know where he was going, but he went—he obeyed.

My brother, my sister, faith begins with obedience. You can raise your hands, prophesy, dance in church, but if you don’t obey what God says, you don’t have faith. It’s not fervor that proves faith, it’s unconditional obedience.

And Abraham had to pay a price. He left behind his habits, his landmarks, his stability. He stepped into the unknown. You want to live new things with God, experience higher dimensions? Then be ready to leave your comfort behind. Faith will always ask you to uproot what you cling to. That’s why many fail—they want God’s glory without letting go of their security. But God moves in the lives of those who give up everything for Him.

Abraham didn’t have all the answers. He didn’t get the full map. All he had was the promise. But he decided to believe. That is faith.

Faith is built and grows: your journey starts here

There are several kinds of faith. The faith to be born again—the one you receive when you believe that Jesus died for your sins. That’s the initial measure. But that faith is not enough to go deeper into the things of God. You also need:

  • faith to walk with God daily,
  • faith to live in Christ,
  • faith to operate in the supernatural,
  • and even faith to die in faithfulness.

And this faith doesn’t fall from the sky. It must be worked on. It must be fed. It must be built. It must be cultivated daily. And most of all, it must be proven through trials. You want to know if your faith is real? Don’t look at how much you pray. Look at what you do when God stops speaking. Look at what you do when your business collapses. Look at what you do when God gives you an instruction that costs you.

Stop believing that faith is just an internal feeling. Faith speaks, yes—but it also obeys. And beware, a stagnant faith is a dying faith. That’s why even the Thessalonians were praised by Paul, because their faith was growing, because they let their faith increase even in the midst of persecution, even when nothing worked. When was the last time you saw your faith rise? When did you see your prayer life rise in intensity? When did your trust in God surpass your fear and your comfort?

You want to see God? Cry out to Him until He comes!

Cry out to God! That’s the language of those who know they were not created to live a mediocre, lukewarm or average life. Cry out to God with faith, with thirst, with fire. The problem is too many pray without conviction. Many come to church for blessings, to have hands laid on them. But who is coming to seek God? Who comes to cry: Lord, where are You? Who comes into the heavenly waiting room to say: “Living Jesus, manifest Yourself in my life”?

This week, we recreated the waiting room. Why? Because God told us to wait. Wait! Wait for Him to speak. Wait for Him to visit. Wait for Him to teach you how to pray according to His heart. Revival does not come among the distracted, disinterested, superficial. Revival comes among men and women who wait for God, who want God more than prosperity, more than marriage, more than solutions. The poor man cries out, and God hears when his faith rises.

Abraham fell, but his faith got back up!

Our generation wants glory without going through trials. But true faith is forged in the fire. Abraham fell too—he lied about Sarah, gave his wife away out of fear, his faith was still immature. But he didn’t stop in failure! He learned from his fall, and he kept going. Have you fallen? Have you lied? Have you compromised your faith? God has not rejected you. He’s calling you to get back up.

Abraham came back stronger. Faith grows through mistakes if you refuse to stay down. Jesus hasn’t condemned you. He’s still asking you today: where is your faith? Take it back! Strengthen it! Reconnect to the living Word!

There’s still time: God wants to take you higher!

I assure you, there’s still time. Even if you’ve lost your flame, your thirst, your commitment—God has not changed. The Father who revealed Himself to Abraham wants to reveal Himself to you. The God of glory wants to dwell in your life. You were not made to stagnate. You were not made to collapse spiritually.

  • Return! Cry out to God! Feed your faith with the Word!
  • Return to the waiting room. Stop first seeking what you want to receive, and start seeking the person of your God.
  • He is the source of all things.
  • And when you cling to Him, when you refuse to let Him go until He speaks to you, then He will appear.

God wants to take you to the other side. God wants to bring you into a higher season. But His question remains: are you ready to follow Him by faith? Are you ready to walk and obey without understanding everything? Are you ready to trust without visible assurance?

Let’s pray together

Father, I cry out to You today. My faith has been shaken, weakened—sometimes it has gone out—but I no longer want to remain in this state. Lift me up! Restore my faith. I choose to trust You even when I don’t understand, even when I tremble. I cry out to You and wait on You. Strengthen my faith. Help me obey. I refuse to remain frozen. I refuse stagnation—I want to walk with You. Let my faith grow, let my faith be strengthened, let my faith glorify You. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

🙏 If you’ve never received the life of Jesus, say this prayer now with all your heart:

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I need You. I believe that You died for my sins and that You rose again. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Wash me, purify me, transform my life. Fill me with Your Spirit and write my name in the book of life. I belong to You forever, in Jesus’ name, amen.

  • 1 Timothy 6:12 – Fight the good fight of the faith, take hold of the eternal life.
  • Luke 18:8 – When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?
  • James 2:26 – As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
  • Romans 12:1 – I urge you to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice.
  • Luke 9:23 – If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.
