How to Become Like Christ?

He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End! So, either you praise Him, or you don’t! Either you make some noise, or you stay silent! Either you shout for joy, or you hold your peace! But one thing is certain: Jesus Christ is worthy of celebration! He is the One who woke you up this morning—not your alarm clock, no! It was His grace that pulled you from sleep; it was His goodness that led you here. You are in the right place, at the right time, but are you the right person to receive this word today?

We are gathered in His presence, for the One who has received the Name above every name, the One before whom every knee bows in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. His name is Jesus! His name is Jesus! That name causes tremors in heaven, shakes the earth, and shakes the underworld. He is exalted above all authority, all power, all dominion!

So in 2024, in your family, in your destiny, in your battles, it is time to become like Christ. For as He is, so are we!

Jesus Is the Model of the New Creation

Why must we become like Christ? Because God has only one goal: to transform us into the image of His beloved Son. The Bible declares:

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. (Colossians 1:15)

He is the firstborn! The first of a new race! A new lineage!

Before Jesus, there was only one race: the Adamic race. But this race was corrupted, broken, deformed by sin. Adam fell, becoming a slave to sin and to the devil. His nature was perverted. He became hateful, bitter, wicked, filled with anger and powerlessness. All of humanity, born from Adam, was under the grip of this spiritual deformation.

But God, in His unfathomable love, sent Jesus! Jesus was born of the Father, born of the Spirit, sown in the womb of a woman to inaugurate a new race. He came as the perfect model, the absolute reference, the divine prototype! But here’s the truth: even though He was born of God, Jesus could have remained merely a child of God without manifesting the power of Christ!

That is why the Bible reveals that when He was baptized, the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in the form of a dove, and a voice resounded from heaven:

This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (Matthew 3:17)

It was at that moment that He became Jesus Christ. It is the Holy Spirit who transforms a mere child of God into a manifested son, perfectly resembling the Father!

The Path to Becoming Like Christ

1. Encounter the Word

Transformation always begins with an encounter with the Word. The Bible says:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1-3)

It was by this Word that all things were created! Even God never acts without His Word!

That is why the first step to becoming like Christ is to immerse yourself in the Scriptures! This Word is not just a religious book… It is God Himself! The Word is the nature, the DNA, the divine identity. To be transformed, you must feed intensively on the Word.

But be careful! Hearing the Word every Sunday is not enough. You must meditate on it, absorb it, let it sink in until it becomes an internal reality!

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. (Colossians 3:16)

2. Receive Revelation

Religious knowledge is not enough! What changes a man is not just what he knows, but what he RECEIVES as revelation in his spirit!

God has revealed it to us by the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. (1 Corinthians 2:10)

Revelation is a powerful key! Many read the Word, but few receive the life that is in it.

3. Behold Christ

After receiving revelation, you must enter into beholding!

We all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18)

Beholding means intensely fixing your eyes on Christ, admiring Him, worshiping Him, celebrating Him!

4. Manifest Transformation

The ultimate goal is to manifest this transformation.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God. (Romans 12:2)

The world needs to see Christs walking on the earth!

Let Us Pray Together

Lord, today I firmly decide to become like Christ! I refuse to be just a child of God—without power, without authority, without impact! Transform me into Your image! Plant Your Word deep in my heart. Give me the revelation of who I am in Christ! May I become a living embodiment of Christ on this earth! I reject every slave mentality and embrace my new identity as a son of God! In the mighty name of Jesus, amen!

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I need You. I believe that You died for my sins and that You rose again. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Transform my life and lead me in Your ways. Amen.
