Your Life Is the Result of Your Dominant Thoughts – Apostle Yvan CASTANOU

Your life is the result of your dominant thoughts

It’s not prayer that changes a life. It’s not power. It’s not the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. What brings lasting change to a life are the thoughts that dominate within you. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. (Proverbs 23:7) This is an unchanging truth. Your life will not move an inch until your mindset is reconfigured by God’s truth. A revival may come, a visitation of fire may fall, demons may be cast out, your body may be healed — but if your heart is not filled with the truth, if the house is left empty, adorned but empty, Jesus says the unclean spirit will return with seven other spirits more wicked than itself. (Matthew 12:43-45)

So I say to you, and I exhort you with every fire in my soul: it is not what happens to you that determines who you are. It is your thoughts. It is not what fights you. It is the dominant thoughts ruling in your mind. And as long as you are not saturated with the truth, as long as you do not build your life on those thoughts, you will go in circles, you will be cast down, you will collapse, despite all the prayers, despite all the anointing. The truth sets you free, not emotion. (John 8:32)

A freed life begins with a word

It is God who works in us both to will and to do. (Philippians 2:13) And how does He do it? Through His word. He speaks, and light breaks forth. He teaches you, and darkness flees. You see, at the cross, Jesus finished everything. He broke the chains, crushed Satan, established a new spiritual regime throughout the universe. Since Golgotha, human beings who receive Jesus Christ can judge evil spirits. The kingdom of darkness has been subdued under the children of God. But then why are so many Christians still stuck? Broken identity, frozen life, entangled destiny?

Because they haven’t understood this: the work of the cross opens a pathway, but only the word equips you to walk it. Power sets free, but the word builds. Power breaks, but the word builds up. It establishes. It anchors you. It is the word that shapes spiritual identity. Without that word, you may have raised the dead — but your own heart remains dead. You may have been delivered — but your life has no direction. You say: “I’m free.” Yes, but you’re wondering, free for what? Without vision, without revelation, you become vulnerable again. What God had driven out returns. Why? Because the house is empty.

The order of transformations

Israel came out of Egypt in one day, but it took forty years for Egypt to come out of Israel. Why? Because Egypt was a system of thought. It wasn’t chains around their wrists. It was chains in their minds. And the same is true for you. Your fight against sin, against depression, against addictions, against bitterness, against fear — it’s not a fight against a demon. It’s a fight against your thoughts. Because if you are saturated with the truth, if your heart is soaked in the words of God, you become an unshakable rock. Your thoughts become reinforced concrete. And let me tell you… no oppression can pierce through reinforced concrete.

You didn’t fail because the spirit is strong. You failed because your thoughts are weak. What fights you is ancient, but what triumphs is eternal. And what is eternal is the word. That’s why it is called “the sword of the Spirit.” (Ephesians 6:17) Prayer is indispensable. Yes. But prayer without truth is dangerously sterile. Jesus never said it is prayer that will set you free. He said:

You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. (John 8:32)

And that is why you will rise again. You will not overcome because you pray hard. You will overcome because you believe right.

Reprogramming your thoughts is a spiritual mission

Someone will say to you: “I’ve tried everything, and I just can’t break through.” And I will answer: “You didn’t fail because the power of the enemy is greater than that of God. You failed because you lack renewed thinking.” Your mindset is still under the yoke of limitation, of resignation. You are not saturated. You are informed, but not transformed. You mentally agree, but are not spiritually infused.

And that’s why you relapse. Because you are not infused with Truth. You haven’t meditated on the finished work of the cross. You know Jesus was crucified, but you haven’t understood why His hands were pierced. You think it’s symbolic? Spiritually, His hands represented your productivity, your authority, your dominion. When they were nailed, your failure was buried, and your strength was restored. But you keep saying, “I’m weak,” because your software hasn’t been reprogrammed. You haven’t changed the image. You still see yourself as a prisoner. You’re not free because you don’t realize you already are.

  • Saturate yourself.
  • Immerse yourself.
  • Repeat.
  • Ruminate.
  • Meditate.
  • Listen again and again until the inner man is rebuilt.

Reformatted. Reset. Because the spiritual man only overcomes in one way: through the word of truth.

The true revolution begins with truth

You want to change? The method is simple. But it is costly. It costs discipline. It costs effort. Egypt doesn’t let go easily. The old man must be crucified, and the new creation formed by the continual renewal of the mind. That’s why Paul, in Romans 12:2, exhorts us not to conform to this present age, but to be transformed… how? By the renewing of the mind!

You want to come out of sin? You want to overcome alcohol, pornography, anger, laziness? Don’t start with prayer. Start with the truth. The rain will fall. The fire will descend. The Pentecost wind will blow. But when all that is done… what are you built on? What are you hoping for? To be shaken your whole life? No. The Lord is waiting for you to build your house, your inner fortress — not on the sand of emotions, but on the rock of truth.

The coming revival is glorious. But it is not the end. It is the trigger. It is meant to give birth to a Church rooted in truth, full of the Holy Spirit but also saturated with the word of Christ. For the Spirit moves where the word is honored. And if you don’t allow yourself to be reprogrammed, everything God builds up could be torn down by the lie of the devil. But that will not be your case.

Let’s pray together

Father, have mercy on me. I acknowledge that it’s not my environment that is the problem, but my thoughts. It is not spiritual warfare, but the software that governs how I perceive the world. Today, I choose to expose myself to Your word, to immerse myself until the truth transforms every fiber of my being. I renounce dryness, I renounce laziness, I renounce ignorance. I choose to pay the price of effort, to love You, to know You, to manifest the version of me You designed before the foundation of the world. Father, I no longer want to live like a prisoner who doesn’t know he is free. Fill me with Your thoughts. Reveal to me Your truth. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

🙏 If you’ve never given your life to Jesus, make this prayer with faith:

Lord Jesus, I recognize that I need You. I believe that You died for my sins and that You rose again. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Change my life. Reveal to me who I am. Lead me into my destiny. Amen.
