DON’T GIVE UP ON YOUR DESTINY – Ps Modestine CASTANOU

Don’t give up on your destiny

Even before you were formed, God had already set glorious plans for your life.

Before your eyes ever opened on this earth, your Creator had already assigned you a divine mission. But here is what you must hear today with every fiber of your being: don’t give up on your destiny. Do not diminish it, do not dilute it, do not reject it! Whatever the cost, whatever the suffering, stand firm, because after the cross comes the resurrection!

1 Peter 1:18-20 powerfully reminds us that we were not redeemed with perishable things like gold or silver, but with the precious blood of Jesus, the Lamb predestined before the foundation of the world.

Fix your eyes on the One who accomplished everything for you!

The path to your destiny is not a calm river

The problem with many today is that they think if God called them, then everything will be easy. My brother, my sister, listen carefully: when you walk the path of your divine destiny, suffering is not a detour. It is proof that you carry a promise. Tell me, who harms a pregnant woman because she cries out? No! The stronger the pain, the closer the birth. It’s the same for you. When you choose to walk according to God’s call, you will feel the tension in your soul, your body will experience the groans of childbirth.

But never forget what 1 Peter 5:10 declares: “After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”

The path to your destiny is filled with obstacles, but it’s by going through the valley that you will discover the depth of God’s love for you.

The battle of the will at Gethsemane: a required passage

Even Jesus, our perfect model, went through the valley of suffering. In the Garden of Gethsemane, He fought the greatest battle: the battle of His own will. Matthew 26:36-38 describes this poignant moment when Jesus, overwhelmed by sorrow and anguish, said to His disciples, “My soul is sorrowful to the point of death.” He cried, “Father, if this cup could be taken from me.” Oh yes, even the perfect Son of God felt the intense pressure of a crucial decision: to give up or to obey.

It was there, in that place of absolute solitude — while His three closest companions slept though He had asked them to watch — that Jesus said: “Not my will, but Yours.” Maybe you are at your own Gethsemane today. Maybe everything in you wants to give up. But like Jesus, choose to say: “Not my will, but Your will, Lord.” It is in submission that true victory is born! That is where the future glory begins to be written.

The cross: the battle of suffering and divine silence

Before the resurrection, Jesus endured the cross. He experienced ultimate humiliation, rejection, but above all what may seem most distressing: the silence of the Father.

Matthew 27:46 recounts this heart-wrenching cry: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

But even without hearing the answer from heaven, Jesus stood firm. Can you also stand firm when heaven seems silent? Can you keep moving forward when your friends no longer understand your struggle? When there are no more voices, no more tangible presence, there remains the unshakable faith that the One who began this work in you will complete it!

Hebrews 12:2 sheds light: Jesus endured the cross, for the joy that was set before Him.

Say with me: there is a joy reserved for me beyond this suffering!

Don’t be mistaken about the trial. Pain is not failure! The desert is not your final destination! The fire of the furnace is only proof that God is purifying the pure gold inside you.

Let your soul remember at all times that the cross was only a passage. Glory, victory, and the crown only come after walking through the shadow of death without letting go of God’s hand.

The resurrection: the radiant manifestation of victory

And here is the most glorious truth of all: He is risen!

Matthew 28:6 triumphantly proclaims: “He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.”

My brother, my sister, Jesus did not remain in the tomb, and neither will you stay buried in your trial! Whatever imprisonment you were stuck in — barrenness, poverty, family failures, generational curses — know that the stone has been rolled away! The way is open! Rise and come out of the tomb yourself!

The resurrection of Christ means that heaven is now open, victory is accessible, and nothing is impossible. At the cross, Jesus paid it all. At the resurrection, He triumphed over all for you. The question is: do you dare believe that your life can become a shining testimony of His glory in His hands?

Today, God invites you not to stop along the way, not to lay your cross down, but to stand firm until the manifestation of glory. Don’t give up! Don’t be afraid! The shadow of death is only a shadow; it cannot hold you. Walk, move forward, persevere, for your resurrection is near!

Let’s pray together

  • Father, today I choose to surrender my own will and embrace Yours. Even if the cup is bitter, I prefer to say “Yes” to Your call, because I know You have reserved eternal joy on the other side of obedience.

  • Lord Jesus, strengthen my weakened hands and steady my trembling knees. Give me the grace to go through my Gethsemane and my cross without fleeing, without faltering, but keeping my eyes fixed on You, the author and finisher of my faith!

  • Father, I reject fear, I reject running away, I reject giving up. By Your Spirit, fill me with Your strength to go all the way to my destiny and to testify of Your glory on earth, in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen!

🙏 If you’ve never given your life to Jesus, say this prayer with faith:

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I need You. I believe You died for my sins and that You rose from the dead. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Transform my life and lead me on Your path. Amen.
