JE DOIS VOUS FAIRE UNE CONFIDENCE : J’AI GRANDI DANS UNE CELLULE – Ps Christian SABOUKOULOU-I MUST CONFESS SOMETHING TO YOU: I GREW UP IN A CELL – Ps Christian SABOUKOULOU

I need to make a confession: I grew up in a cell

There are things that cannot be explained. There are dimensions of God that can only be experienced through total immersion in His principles and in His Church. If you want to see your spiritual life explode, there is a secret I must share with you today: I grew up in a cell. It’s not a prison, no. It’s a home cell, a spiritual household where God shaped me, where I learned to walk with Him, to push past my limits, to grasp the value of a soul, and to love the Church with all my strength.

And what if I told you today that what you want to see in your life, what you desire to experience with God, begins in a cell? This revelation changed my life, and I’m about to share it with you.

Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. (Hebrews 5:13)

There’s a difference between knowing the Word and experiencing the Word. And the cell is one of the places where that transformation takes place.

A cell, a school of life

A cell is not just a prayer group, it’s not a mini church. It’s a training platform, an incubator where God shapes your character, sharpens your faith, and teaches you deep spiritual realities. I grew up in a cell! It’s where my faith took on another dimension, where my capacity to love souls was developed, where I understood the importance of fellowship and service.

In Acts 10, we read that Cornelius and his family were saved within a setting similar to a cell. He gathered his relatives, his friends in his home, and the Holy Spirit came upon them. Before going to church, it’s often in a cell that everything begins. That’s my story. Before I ever stepped into a church building, the cell was already part of my daily life. And you, where are you?

A cell, the place where destinies are changed

The cell is one of the places where God draws souls. Some may never set foot in a church building, but they will come to a home meeting, and there, they will receive the Word that changes everything. It was through a cell that my mother, who was already converted, was able to draw us to Christ. We weren’t going to church. We were busy with our distractions and our occupations, but she planted a cell in our home. And it was that regular presence of fervent people, full of life and faith, that triggered our conversion.

There will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. (Luke 15:7)

One soul is worth more than anything. In a church with thousands of people, if a soul is won, its impact might not be fully realized. But in a cell, you feel it, you live it, you understand the power of a single saved soul.

The cell is a training school for disciples

Attending church on Sunday is important, but if you want to go beyond being just a spectator and become a strong and active disciple, the cell is the key. It is there that you experience the Word. It is there that you understand spiritual responsibility. A true disciple doesn’t just listen, he shares, he transmits, he grows by bearing fruit.

What did I learn in the cell? I learned to love and value every soul, I learned that the Word of God is not just a Sunday sermon, but a truth to be applied and experienced daily. I learned service, prayer, spiritual responsibility. It is in the cell that I had my first experiences preaching, interceding, and engaging in spiritual warfare.

A cell, a laboratory for casting out demons

Some want to see the power of God manifest publicly, but don’t seek it in the secret place. In a cell, you are confronted with spiritual realities more directly. My first experience of spiritual warfare happened in a cell. A brother, in the middle of praise, suddenly started shouting with a voice that wasn’t his: “I’m going to kill all of you here!” The entire room emptied! I myself ran and hid. But it was in that cell that I learned to exercise my authority in Christ.

It was not on a big stage that I learned to preach, teach, intercede. No! It was where there were three, four, five people. Where every word counts. Where every soul is precious. Where I couldn’t pretend to have a prayer life.

A cell, a school for the future

Look carefully at those whom God is using powerfully in the Church today. Ask the question, and you’ll be surprised: most have gone through this invisible but powerful school. Those who are bearing fruit today are often the ones who grew in faithfulness within a cell. It’s no coincidence that many pastors today at ICC, those leading campuses, those making an impact, were cell leaders before they had major ministries.

If God wants to use you tomorrow, it’s today that you must allow Him to shape you. The cell is God’s school for those He wants to send far. It’s in the cell that you learn spiritual discipline, soul care, the responsibility of a flock.

At the heart of the Bible

  • Hebrews 5:13 – The experience of the Word
  • John 3:16 – Salvation through faith
  • Luke 15:7 – The value of one soul saved
  • Acts 10 – Cornelius and the power of the cell

Prayer

Father, I thank You for this revelation. Today, I choose to take my spiritual growth seriously. I refuse to be passive. I want to commit, I want to be a disciple, I want to bear fruit. Lord, open my understanding and allow me to fully walk in what You have prepared for me. If I am called to lead a cell, Lord, equip me, train me, prepare my heart.

Lord, I make myself available. Use me! May I be a vessel for Your glory, may lives be saved, strengthened, and transformed through mine, in the name of Jesus. Amen!
