Living Christ: a life of surrender and abundance

There is no abundance without surrender. Say it again. There is no abundance… without surrender.

You want to live Christ? You want to experience the divine life, the Zoe life, the life Jesus came to give? Then you must die to yourself! Die to your attachments, die to what you cherish, die to what you think is essential. Because living Christ means entering a life of denial, of sacrifice and… of abundance. Yes! A life of surrender AND abundance.

Mark 8:34 is clear: If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

You don’t follow Jesus dragging bags of pride, attachment to money, to reputation, to comfort. Surrender is the door. Abundance is the consequence. It’s a spiritual law.

You want to see God? You must give Him everything.

You want the glory? You must embrace the darkness of sacrifice.

You want to bear fruit? The grain must be GROUND, the wheat must DIE.

It’s Jesus who said it in John 12:24: Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

Can you surrender, completely, to fully live?

God’s model: surrender before abundance

There is not a single story of greatness in the Bible that began without surrender. Not one! Look at Abraham. God told him: “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household.” (Genesis 12:1). And later, He told him: “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and offer him.” (Genesis 22:2). It is always what you love that God will ask you to surrender.

Look at Jesus. Heaven had to let Him go!

John 3:16: For God so loved the world that He GAVE.

And Romans 8:29 says: “That His Son might be the firstborn among many brothers.” He gave ONE Son, and reaped millions! God Himself showed the way: surrender that produces abundance.

So stop struggling. Stop holding on to what God is asking you to let go of. You want God’s life? You must die to your own life.

Paul says it in 2 Corinthians 4:11-12: For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.

Death is at work in me, so that life can work in you. That is the price.

The dynamics of surrender: 7 consequences if you refuse

If you refuse to surrender, you expose yourself to serious consequences. That’s why some don’t live the Zoe life: they sing Christ in me, the hope of glory, but they refuse to give Him what costs. Here’s what the Spirit reveals:

  1. You will miss a dimension of grace and abundance. There are levels of breakthrough reserved for those who accepted to die. It’s like a rocket: it must release weight to ascend. If you don’t want to let go, you’ll stay grounded.
  2. You will live in stagnation. You’ll look back and see that you haven’t grown spiritually. Without surrender, there is no divine propulsion.
  3. You will live on the margins of God’s promises. Malachi 3:10-12 proves it: those who hold back what belongs to God don’t experience heaven’s specific action. Instead of abundance, they endure barrenness.
  4. You will frustrate God. Yes, God can be frustrated. Because He wants to go further with you, He wants to bring you into a new season, but you’re holding Him back by holding on to what you should surrender.
  5. You will miss something BIG that God wanted to do with you. Surrender triggers multiplication. If the grain doesn’t die, it remains alone.
  6. You will not fulfill your destiny. Clear, sharp, precise. No divine destiny is fulfilled without sacrifice. NONE. You think you’ll make it without giving anything up? You’re wrong.
  7. You will live with inner frustration. Because your spirit knows you’re out of alignment with what God expects from you.

But be careful: surrendering doesn’t mean losing. No! Losing is involuntary. Surrender is an act of faith. It’s sowing – willingly – what you hold dear, because you believe in the One who multiplies.

What you must surrender isn’t “in general,” it’s specific

God isn’t asking you to surrender everything. He’s asking for YOUR Isaac. The one YOU love. And you already know. You know. The Spirit already pointed out that relationship, that pastime, that money, that project, that attachment to your image, your ambition… You know. The issue isn’t not knowing. The issue is obedience.

The rich young man knew. Jesus looked at him, loved him, and said: “You lack one thing: sell all you have and give to the poor, and follow me.” Mark 10:21-23. But the man went away… sad. He thought Jesus wanted to impoverish him. He didn’t know God was preparing… a hundredfold.

Because here’s what Jesus added right after, for those who surrender: There is no one who has left house, brothers, sisters, or land, for me and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundred times as much, now in this present age, with persecutions. (Mark 10:29-30)

I declare a spiritual law: the one who surrenders to God receives a hundredfold. On earth as in heaven.

I shared my testimony. As a student, without a license or a car, I dreamed of buying my Seat Ibiza with my savings. I fasted, saved up my meal vouchers. I gathered 15,000 francs. But God told me: “Give it all.” I obeyed. A few months later, not a car bought. A car given. A brand new Seat Ibiza, company car. Then a second. Then an Audi, given by my spiritual father. I’ve never “bought” a car to this day.

Why? Because the day I surrendered, I sealed a COVENANT. And since then, this covenant speaks in my favor.

Surrender triggers divine favor. And for you too, the story starts here.

The results always glorify God

When you surrender, you open the door to multiplication. And this multiplication builds the glory of God!

Proverbs 14:28: A large population is the glory of a king.

The multiplication that results from your sacrifice glorifies your King.

Mary surrendered her reputation. She accepted to carry Jesus in shame. The result? She is the most honored woman in human history. Her name is the most given. She said yes, she surrendered – she reaped eternal glory.

I assure you, there is power in surrender. Power. POWER in surrender!

And that power produces abundance. It produces life. It produces peace. It produces inheritance. It produces… Christ in you.

Let us pray together

Lord, today, I refuse to deprive myself of Your life because of my attachment to what You’re asking me to surrender. Open my eyes to see what I’m still holding onto. Give me the strength and the faith to surrender. Like Abraham, lead me to the mountain of sacrifice. And like him, let me see Your hand provide. I give You what I love. Let my life become a channel of Your abundance. May my faithfulness trigger Your multiplication. I am Yours, fully. In the name of Jesus, amen.

🙏 If you’ve never given your life to Jesus, pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge You as the Son of God. I believe You died and rose again for me. From today on, I give You my life. I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Lead me on the path of surrender and true life. Amen.

At the heart of the Bible

  • John 10:10 – I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
  • John 12:24 – Unless the grain dies, it remains alone.
  • Mark 8:35 – Whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.
  • 2 Corinthians 4:11-12 – So death is at work in us, but life in you.
  • Romans 12:1 – The living sacrifice
  • Luke 9:23 – Take up your cross daily

Conclusion and final invitation

Where you are, you know what you must do. You know. Today, let this word not just be a sermon, but a turning point. Because those who embrace the fire of sacrifice receive the rain of abundance.
