God wants to make of you an anti-dispersal shepherd – Pastor Juliana ONDO

God wants to make you an anti-scattering shepherd

“If God’s burden is not your burden, don’t be surprised if your burden doesn’t interest God.” That’s what the Lord has charged me to tell you today. Why have you been crying out for years about the same subject, yet without seeing transformation? Why do you feel stuck despite your prayers, your fasting, your supplications? Have you ever taken the time to listen to God’s cry? Because yes, God also cries. God also groans. God also sighs. And His cry is simple:

My sheep are scattered, and no one searches or looks for them. (Ezekiel 34)

You want someone to take care of you, but God is asking you: “And you, are you ready to take care of others?” In 1 Peter 5:7, the Word says: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you…” That’s a heavenly invitation to lay down your burden. But don’t come empty-handed! It’s a transaction. God takes your burden, but in exchange, He gives you His.

What is this burden that God wants to place on you? His people! His sheep! The scattered sheep, the wounded, the disillusioned, the scandalized. That is God’s burden.

My yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-29)

Why is it light? Because it doesn’t lead to anxiety or stress. It’s not a burden that crushes you, it’s a burden that keeps you alive, a burden that causes you to flourish, a burden that aligns you with heaven. God is calling you to change status, to leave the identity of a needy sheep and become a responsible shepherd.

You want God to take care of your life, but have you asked yourself how many lives God wants you to care for?

John 21: “Simon, Simon… Do you love me? Then take care of my sheep.”

Do you really love God? It’s not through songs that you’ll prove it. It’s not through tears. It’s through a change in posture: you become a person who cares for souls.

It’s time to reach the point of no return

Why do so many children of God go in circles, stall in their Christian walk? Because they refuse to grow. Because they refuse to become what God expects of them. There comes a stage where you no longer need to be reminded of the foundations of faith. A moment when you must move from student to teacher.

Though by this time you ought to be teachers, you still need someone to teach you the basic principles… (Hebrews 5:12)

That’s tragic. Spiritually speaking, some believers are 6-years-old but still wear diapers. We still have to soothe their emotional wounds, their tantrums, their complaints. It’s not normal!

Peter also walked that path, but Jesus told him: “When you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” Today, you’re standing. You know Jesus is Lord. You know there is no other life possible. You know you cannot turn back. You know the truth, you’ve seen His faithfulness, you’ve tasted His love. So then why are you still inactive? You’re already saved, but multitudes around you are perishing. God is saying to you: “Strengthen your brothers.”

  • They’re still doubting.
  • They’re still staggering.
  • You experienced rejection? Others are going through worse.
  • You wept over your home? Others are already in depression.
  • You groaned? Others are on the verge of suicide.

You may be destined to reign, to thrive in a sphere of influence, but before giving you kingship, God looks at your heart. He’s not looking for a Saul, He’s looking for a David. And David, before becoming king, was a shepherd. He took care of his father’s flocks. He watched over every sheep. When one was attacked, he defended it.

That’s what God is seeking: men and women who watch, protect, and lead others toward lasting spiritual maturity.

Become a revival agent who guards and strengthens

Does church growth depend only on evangelism? No. It’s not just about bringing in souls. It’s mostly about keeping them.

My sheep were scattered for lack of a shepherd. (Ezekiel 34:5)

It’s not a matter of method, it’s a matter of heart. Where is your heart? Are you ready to guard what God has saved?

Reinhard Bonnke understood it: preaching to a hundred thousand people is good. But if 95% go back into the world, then the work is incomplete. God is not looking for mere soul-winners. He is seeking soul-guardians. Anti-scattering shepherds.

You want an example? Between 2023 and 2024, Impact Centre Chrétien went from 41,000 to 78,000 members. Praise God. But did you know that at least 40,000 sheep were lost in the meantime? Why? Lack of shepherds. Not lack of programming. Lack of shepherds.

A child who is born but not fed, not nurtured, eventually dies. Being born again does not mean you are established!

If you love God, you cannot bear to see His flock scatter like this.

  • You must lift up the bowed down
  • Go after the absent
  • Call those who were there yesterday but are gone today

If every son of the house committed to caring for 5 to 10 people, we would lose no one.

Don’t despise what you think is insignificant

You don’t need a microphone to shine. God is not calling you to be in the spotlight. He’s calling you to shine through impact, through heart, not through platform.

You say: “I’m called to sports,” or “I’m called to television.” Glory to God. But do you know why God is calling you there? It will never be for ratings. It will always be for souls. Always to influence, heal, deliver, lead.

You’re looking for connections, a new job, a mentor. Don’t you know your answer is hidden in the souls God entrusted to you?

Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor will also cry out and not be answered. (Proverbs 21:13)

You’re crying, you’re longing, and God seems absent?

  • See if you’ve shut your heart to the tears of others.
  • See if you’ve sown comfort.
  • See if you’ve been heaven’s answer in someone’s life.

Joseph could have wept over his fate in prison. But instead, he noticed that other prisoners were sad. He lifted them up, encouraged them, interpreted their dreams. That is the heart of a shepherd. And it was this posture that connected him to Pharaoh.

When you carry the burden of others, God sends resources to lighten yours. People will come to bless you just because you were a cornerstone in their life.

  • You want to be lifted up? Start by lowering yourself to serve.
  • You want to be promoted? Start by supporting.
  • You want resources? Start by sowing from your heart.

Your destiny is linked to the people you serve. Be faithful to a single soul, and God will entrust you with ten, a hundred, a thousand. He doesn’t look at your bank account; He looks at the capacity of your heart.

Shine to the zenith, nations will walk in your light

Arise, shine… nations will walk in your light. (Isaiah 60)

Who are the nations walking in your light? They are the people whose lives your life has transformed.

It’s not human applause that defines your level of brilliance. It’s the number of lives restored, reconciled, strengthened through you.

Every time you refuse to shine by focusing only on yourself, you dim the clarity of your radiance.

Stop centering everything around your children, your husband, your job, your career. The heart of God is turned toward the sheep. Serve them, love them, learn to carry them in prayer. Be the shepherd that God will desire, not merely tolerate.

Be that man, that woman, whom heaven will elevate to rule—not to dominate, but to guard the flock of God.

Let’s pray together

Lord, today I make a burden exchange. I lay at Your feet my cares, my weights, and I receive Your burden: the care of souls, the strengthening of the sheep, compassion for the lost. Give me Your heart. Break selfishness, break egocentrism in me. I want to shine, but not alone. I want others to be blessed through me. Use me as an anti-scattering shepherd, a faithful servant, able to illuminate their path to You. I stand willing today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

🙏 If you’ve never given your life to Jesus, pray this prayer with faith:

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I need You. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Transform my life and make me an instrument in Your hands. I give You my heart, my life, my future. Amen.
