J2 – He Who Is Like Christ: Participation in the Divine Nature – IC2025 – Rev Benny DAG-ANNAN

The one who is like Christ: partaking in the divine nature

“Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they think they have will be taken from them!”

Why? Why this apparent injustice? Why do those who already have keep receiving, while those who have nothing are robbed of even the little they possess? Brothers and sisters, this verse wasn’t quoted just once by Jesus. It was repeated by Matthew, rephrased by Mark, emphasized by Luke. And these men weren’t even apostles! Yet the Holy Spirit inspired them to inscribe this truth in almost every Gospel. That’s an indicator that it is a spiritual law. This is not a supposition. It’s not a case for social injustice. It’s a Kingdom key to access another level: partaking in the divine nature.

This is not optional—it’s the destiny of those born of God. Peter says it with striking clarity:

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory.

Brothers, as long as you still believe that what you need is outside of you, you’ll spend your life suffering needlessly. Your answers are already buried within. Your health? It’s in you. Your business? It’s already sown in your mind. Your family? It’s woven into the very fibers of your destiny. So why do so many Christians live in misery, dependency, spiritual barrenness? The answer is simple: because the one who partakes of the divine nature does not act as though he’s waiting for God to do everything. He understands he must cultivate what God has already deposited in him.

Discover the one who has

Look around you. Those who win, win again. Those who build, build more. Those who prosper, attract even more. You know a 4-star chef pursued by international restaurants while others are still looking for their first shot? A brother who no one noticed, but when one sister starts dating him… suddenly he’s the center of everyone’s attention? Why? Because once someone reaches even a first level, a tiny spark, a little result… a divine cascade is activated!

  • Someone gets a job? They’re offered two more.
  • Someone launches a crusade? Before finishing the first, they’re planning the next.

Brother, it’s a Kingdom law: to him who has, more will be given.

Look around you. A pastor opens one church, then two, then twenty, then fifty! Meanwhile, others have been in the same place for ten years fighting to keep twenty people faithful on Sundays. Why? Because one has entered a flow, a spiritual current of abundance; while the other is battling to keep the little he has—and often loses it. And yet, God is no respecter of persons. But He responds to one thing: your inner state. What causes a man to have is not what he has received. It is who he IS.

The man who received a church as a gift, if he doesn’t carry within him the traits, qualities, and nature of “the one who has”, he will lose everything. And conversely, the man who walks in the traits of Christ, who develops godliness, diligence, temperance, virtue, knowledge, faith, charity… he will ultimately become a man who has.

Jesus said: You will do the works I do, and even greater works!

Brother, this is not in the heavens, it’s on Earth. The benefit of the cross, the resurrection, the baptism of fire, is to partake in the divine nature!

The power is already there, but everything starts from within

You’re looking for a change in your bank account? Start by changing your inner man, because everything begins from there. You look at your balance and weep? Don’t ask for heavenly transfers! Ask God to change you, because what you see in your account is only a reflection of who you are inside. A financial gift won’t fix an identity problem. All the billions sent to Africa by the diaspora will change nothing if the African man doesn’t become a new man. The funds are not lacking. The traits within us are! Brother, develop what you need inside to become one who has.

Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings!

This is not just a blessing; it’s a law. A diligent man, a trained man, a structured man, a disciplined man… will always end up having access to the gates of the influential. You want to have? Work. You want to manifest God? Cultivate His traits. There are some who have the anointing but not the structure. Some who have the promise but not the patience. Some who received prophecies but not the temperance to wait for fulfillment—and they fail.

God has already given you everything. Yes, EVERYTHING.

His divine power has given us EVERYTHING. It’s already done. God is not watching you to see if you will be worthy. He has already chosen you. Now He’s waiting for you to release what He’s placed in you. Look at an abandoned house. What do you do when you buy a run-down house? You fix what’s broken, repaint the walls, furnish the rooms, and then invite your friends. God took your life like an infrastructure. When He came into you, He didn’t come to observe the mess. He began repairing what the enemy had broken. He started over from scratch. No, it won’t be a spiritual paint job—it’ll be a complete transformation. Christ in you is the hope of glory.

But the ultimate goal is not to fix your past. The goal is that you carry His glory. The goal is that you become a man or woman who partakes in His very nature! You, a man, filled with a God who acts through you. You, the answer to a 20-year-old prayer! You walk in. Lay hands. And without speaking in tongues, without sweating, you become a solution. The time is over when we seek God just to be healed or restarted. It’s time to become those who walk like Jesus. You want to change your country? You want to transform your neighborhood? Become a man connected to the divine frequency.

How to become this Christ who walks?

2 Peter 1:5 gives us the roadmap. It says:

Make every effort to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, divine love.

These are spiritual layers that build upon one another.

  • Yes, you have faith. But that’s not enough!
  • Yes, you received the anointing. But if you lack diligence, you’ll lose what you received.
  • You must work. Cultivate. Grow.

These things are inside you—but their size is tiny. You want to become a giant? Increase their volume! God says: “If these things are in you, they will keep you from being barren and unfruitful.” You will no longer be able to say: “I can’t” or “I don’t have.” They will hold you back when you try to quit. You want to abandon your mission? They’ll grab you. You want to lay down the mic? They won’t let you! When virtue, faith, brotherly love, temperance mature in you, they become your spiritual guardians. You’ll never fall back to your former level.

Work on your inner character. Don’t chase works—chase the capacities of Christ in you. Be good. Be persistent. Cultivate knowledge. Reject spiritual mediocrity. Become unstoppable. Do you walk like God? Do you work like God? Do you invest like God? Godliness, charity, faith, knowledge—develop them! For they are the secret to your participation in the divine nature.

Let’s pray together

Lord, today I understand. It’s not the external rewards I must seek, but the internal traits I must cultivate. Ignite diligence in me. Develop godliness in me, temperance, patience. Impart to me the traits of Christ so I may be unstoppable in my walk. I want to become a man, a woman, who actively partakes in your divinity, who walks like You, speaks like You, and acts like You. Transform me from within. I want to manifest what You have placed in me. In Jesus’ name, amen!

🙏 If you have never given your life to Jesus, pray this with faith:

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I need You. Forgive my sins and transform me. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Fill me with Your presence and lead me in Your will. Amen.
