J2 – Impact Conference 2025 – The Morning Session – Influencing through art and creativity, is it possible?

Influencing through art and creativity — is it possible?

“You want the world? You want the spotlight? You want the stadiums? Then pour this vial on your mic and obey — that’s the price to pay.” This sentence, delivered like a cold verdict, struck Jade’s heart like a lightning bolt of clarity. A blinding truth: every gift can be used to glorify God… or to get lost. Jade stood at a crossroads. A powerful voice. Undeniable talent. A tangible anointing. But a burning question: how far are you willing to go to break through? And more importantly, who do you want to shine for?

In the beginning, God created. Genesis 1:1. He revealed Himself first as an artist, a creator, a visionary. What if art was not just a secondary form of entertainment? What if being an artist is a divine calling? In Exodus 31, God says: “I have chosen Bezalel… I have filled him with the Spirit of God for all kinds of craftsmanship.” God didn’t fill a prophet. He didn’t fill a warrior. He filled a craftsman. He spoke to the world through a creative’s hands.

So the question stands: can art change the world? Can art influence the Church? Can creativity carry the weight of a Kingdom?

The heartbreaking choice between compromise and consecration

In a world where people sell their souls to climb the ladder of success, Jade had to face one of the most perilous decisions of her life. A golden offer: 80,000 people, the Stade de France, cameras, contracts, a name. Caprice. She had won everything. Everything—except peace. Everything—except God.

She only thought she’d sing. But she eventually realized she was making a pact. With whom? With what? The world’s expectations. The rules of the game. The codes of an industry that glorifies the hype, the image, the trend—but forgets the truth. Because yes, in this system, your voice is a tool. Your wavelength, a control mechanism. Your sound, a trap. And that night, Caprice took the stage. But Jade spoke. Jade, transformed, broken, confronted by the Spirit of God. And she cried out louder than all the applause: “Tonight, I’m not singing. Tonight, I’m talking to you about Jesus.”

It wasn’t just an act of faith. It was a public deliverance. A revolution that shook 80,000 spectators. She refused the fake to utter the truth. She rejected compromise to embrace the cross. She understood that a gift that doesn’t glorify God is a trap. Your voice, your brush, your camera, or your pen must be sanctified. Purified. Offered as a living sacrifice on the Altar of the Most High.

God needs creators who refuse to be products

Art is not a heavenly hobby. It is an earthly mission. God is looking for creators who refuse to be products of the system. God is looking for artisans of light. Psalmists with integrity. Videographers with spiritual wisdom. Poets who discern the times.

When God called Bezalel, it wasn’t for crafting hobby trinkets. It was to build the Holy of Holies. The place where God’s presence descended. God is still looking for prophetic architects. Anointed video editors. Inspired scriptwriters. He’s looking for people who don’t just see a mic, but an altar. Not a stage… but a battlefield. Not a choreography, but an offering.

Yes, not everyone is creative in the same area. But everyone is creative somewhere. Because we’re made in His image. And God is the First Artist. He formed the world. He shaped Adam. He painted the sky. And He formed you too—to create.

Your art may be invisible to the eyes of men, but thrilling to the eyes of God. You may not know how to style hair or sing, but you know how to organize. Tell a story. Inspire. Create something beautiful out of something small. That’s where the power is unleashed.

Music is not just a sound. It is a carrier. A presence channel. A spiritual portal. That’s why the devil covets it so much. Why do you think he works so hard to seduce the creatives? Because inspiration is territory. And whoever influences art, ends up influencing nations.

Warning to creatives: beware of idolatry

Jade’s testimony is not just a beautiful story. It is also a solemn warning. Because in the art world, temptation is subtle. Idolatry dresses up as passion. Ambition becomes obsession. After rehearsing your scales over and over, you end up worshiping your instrument. You started dancing for God, but now you refuse to obey if He tells you to stop? You call it a calling, but you ignore the calls of the Spirit. Wake up.

You know how to recognize an idol?

  • When you can’t let go.
  • When your heart clings more to your gift than to your God.
  • When you sacrifice prayer for practice.
  • When you pray less to receive and post more to impress…

That’s when art becomes poison. Grace becomes a burden. And you find yourself like Caprice. The world cheers you on, but God calls you by your true name. Jade. Daughter of the promise. Worthy. Consecrated. Set apart.

So let go of that mic. Come back to Jesus.

Sanctified creativity, a tool for impact and revival

It is time to raise the standard. For Kingdom creatives to outperform those of the world. It’s time to put an end to mediocrity in the name of being Christian. Why should the Church always be a step behind when it comes to arts and technologies? What does the Scripture say? “I have filled Bezalel with my Spirit and wisdom for all kinds of craftsmanship.” God backs excellence. God inspires new ideas. God pushes His children to excel in their lane.

You’re creative, then create. But create with prayer. Invest in your gift. Sharpen your tool. Don’t let your art become a wasteland. Be fiercely intentional. Be consecrated. Be sanctified.

Some will come to Christ not through a sermon, but through a play. A painting. A spoken word. A series. A set. A gesture. Your artistic obedience can open a hardened heart. Your script can save a soul.

That is why you should never despise your art. Don’t despise your field, even if it’s discreet. Don’t despise the camera. Don’t despise the dance. God can fill it with fire — as long as He is at the center. Your art is not neutral. It releases an atmosphere. It declares a message. That is true influence.

Let’s pray together

Father, I thank You because You are the First Creator, the Master of artists, the Divine Architect. Today, I dedicate to You my hands, my ideas, my thoughts, my dreams. Take my art, my song, my voice, my pen, and sanctify them. I renounce all compromise. I don’t want to break through without You. You’re the One I want to glorify. Give me the boldness to say no to the world and yes to Your Presence. Use my art as a weapon for Your Kingdom. Thank You for the Spirit of Bezalel that rests on me. Amen.

🙏 If you’ve never given your life to Jesus, pray this in faith:

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I need You. Forgive my sins and transform me. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Fill me with Your presence and lead me in Your will. Amen.
