Look at your life. Observe the patterns that keep repeating. You pray, you fast, you serve, and yet happiness always seems fleeting, unstable, ephemeral. Why? Because it is not prayer alone that prolongs happiness, it is not even faith alone: it is obedience! It is the abandonment of iniquity!
God created you to manifest His glory, to enjoy an abundant life. Yet, so many believers wonder why blockages persist, why situations keep cycling, why the future seems to be under bondage. But the truth is simple and powerful: as long as you have not turned your back on iniquity, your happiness will always lack stability.
Daniel 4:27: Put an end to your sins by practicing righteousness and to your iniquities by showing compassion to the afflicted, so that your happiness may be prolonged.
It is not prayer alone that guarantees a glorious future, it is an inner positioning, it is the radical decision to abandon what God hates and embrace what He loves. Do you want 2024 to be a year of abundant harvest? Then stop sowing in iniquity!
Iniquity is not just an occasional sin that one confesses and quickly moves on from. It is a perversion rooted in character! It is sin that has become a habit, a spiritual addiction that alters your moral DNA. A man who falls into sin can rise again, but the one who wallows in iniquity is chained.
There is a difference between stumbling in sin and being dominated by iniquity. The first stumbles, weeps, and repents. The second justifies, trivializes, and persists. And that is where the problem begins.
Proverbs 3:32-33: The Lord detests the perverse, but he is a friend to the upright. The curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the dwelling of the righteous.
Listen carefully! The curse does not follow randomly. It rests where iniquity is tolerated! It is not a matter of fate or some arbitrary curse. No! Where iniquity is present, the curse has a legal right. And as long as these strongholds are maintained, as long as these patterns are fed, God Himself cannot intervene.
Do you sometimes wonder why certain negative cycles do not stop? It is not necessarily an external spiritual battle; sometimes it is an open door within you! It is time to cry out to God and refuse any cohabitation with entrenched sin! It is time to break that spiritual garment that attracts eternal delays, blockages, and repetitive family patterns.
God is patient, but He does not overlook iniquity. He tolerates weaknesses, but He does not accept compromise. Iniquity turns people into enemies of God while giving them the illusion that they are still under His covering.
Matthew 7:22-23: Many will say to me on that day, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name?” […] Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice iniquity.”
These people performed miracles, they preached, they served. And yet, they had a fundamental problem: they lived in iniquity! Just because you are active for God does not mean you are approved by God. There are people who serve but are in spiritual danger! God does not bless a ministry; God blesses a transformed heart!
And if your character has not changed, if you play with ungodliness, if you coexist with duplicity, there is a warning over your destiny.
Exodus 20:5-6: I punish the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but I show lovingkindness to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
Iniquity is not just a trap for you. It is a generational poison. This means that iniquity does not stop with you; it affects your descendants! When you choose to tolerate your sin when you normalize what is deviant, it is not only you who pays the price—it is also your children! What you fail to destroy will destroy them. You carry a spiritual heritage, and God is calling out to you today: break the chain! What you accept today will become the burden of your lineage.
1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all iniquity.
Do not just ask for forgiveness. Plead with God to uproot these twisted roots.
Father, today I stand before You with a sincere heart. I no longer want to walk in iniquity; I refuse all compromise and cry out to You: deliver me! Purify my character, uproot what does not glorify You, tear down the strongholds that keep me far from You. Lord, let this year be the year that Christ is perfectly formed in me! Let the curses that followed my lineage be broken! Let Your fire consume everything in me that feeds impurity and disobedience. I belong to You completely. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen!
