THE PRIORITY OF GOD FOR YOU – APOSTLE YVAN CASTANOU

God’s Priority for You – Apostle Yvan Castanou

God will do it! He will do it again! He has not changed, and He will never change! He remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is the God of miracles, He heals the sick, He raises the dead, He is mighty to save! But the question today is this: What is He seeking to do first in your life? Because before talking about what He will give you, you must understand what He wants to build in you.

When the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3)

If the foundations are unstable, if the foundations of your spiritual life are neglected, then everything you build will collapse at the slightest storm. But if the foundation is solid, whatever comes against you will not shake you. God does not just want to perform miracles in your life, He first wants to ensure that you are able to carry them, keep them, and manifest His glory sustainably.

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:11)

Nothing can stand if Christ is not the foundation of your life!

Christ Must First Be Formed in You

Many come to Christ with legitimate desires: they want to be blessed, they want to succeed, they want to see God’s power in their lives. But while man thinks in terms of quick results, God prioritizes the foundation. This means that He seeks to establish Christ’s very nature in you before giving you certain blessings.

Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:13-14)

This means that as long as you are a child, as long as you are restless, as long as you are easily influenced and unstable, you cannot fully walk in the destiny that God has for you.

Look around you! Many start well with God but end up crushed by trials. Why? Because their foundations were not solid. Peter, before Pentecost, walked with Jesus, saw the miracles, but when the storm came, he denied his Master three times! Why? Because Christ was not yet fully formed in him. He was not established, rooted, or unshakable.

If your foundation is not solid, when temptation comes, you will give in. When pressure comes, you will give up. When fear strikes, you will be swept away by doubt. That is why God’s priority is not to give you material success before establishing His character in you. Be rooted in Christ, and nothing will shake you!

Do Not Start with Appearance, Start with the Foundation

We live in a generation where everything moves fast. People want to break through quickly, succeed quickly, rise quickly. They want to be rich, influential, respected. But while the world looks at appearances, God examines the foundations. The world emphasizes the façade, but God searches the depth.

This is why so many Christian lives collapse at the first storm. Because the foundations are neglected! Jesus told the parable of the house built on sand and the house built on the rock. The one built on sand collapsed when the storm came. But the one built on the rock remained standing. Why? Because the quality of the foundation determines the house’s resilience.

If you make wealth your priority, trials will take it away, and nothing will remain. If you make reputation your priority, one slander will be enough to bring you down. But if you make Christ your foundation, then no matter what comes, you will remain standing!

True success, the kind that lasts, is built on solid foundations. God is not looking to propel you quickly; He is ensuring that what He builds in you endures.

The Divine Process Starts with Making You Fruitful

When God created man in Genesis 1:27-28, the first thing He commanded was not to dominate. Before speaking of dominion, He said: “Be fruitful.” He did not start with impact; He started with inner transformation.

Being fruitful means producing fruit. And what are these fruits?

  • Love
  • Joy
  • Peace
  • Patience
  • Kindness
  • Goodness
  • Faithfulness
  • Gentleness
  • Self-control (Galatians 5:22)

Why do so many marriages fail? Because couples seek complicity before maturity. Why do so many careers collapse? Because people seek success before integrity. Why are so many spiritual lives unstable? Because people seek blessings before Christlikeness.

If Christ’s love is not in you, life’s wounds will make you bitter. If Christ’s patience is not in you, life’s challenges will leave you frustrated and discouraged. If Christ’s peace is not in you, anxiety will always have the last word.

God wants to establish His nature in you before placing His blessings on you. Because if the foundation is flawed, everything you build will be fragile.

Let’s Pray Together

Father, today I acknowledge that before desiring blessings, I must be rooted in Christ. Help me not to be impatient, not to chase after secondary things, but to seek the priority, which is to resemble You first.

Form Christ’s character in me! Let Your love be my love, let Your patience be my patience, let Your peace guard my heart. I do not want to be a fragile Christian; I want to be strong and unshakable. I want my life to be built on the unshakable rock of Jesus Christ!

In the mighty name of Jesus, amen!
