The Prayer That Provokes Double Favour – Pastor Paul MBONDA

The prayer that unleashes double favor

Oh, beloved, do you understand the time we’re in? 2025 will not be a year like any other. There will be adversity, there will be darkness, but in the midst of the chaos, God remains faithful! Darkness will try to suffocate you, it will try to crush you, but it cannot stop your destiny! Because Christ in you is the hope of glory, and this year, you will triumph!

God is looking for men and women who pray, watchmen who refuse to stay silent.

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. (Luke 18:1)

This word is for you today! When opposition comes, when circumstances try to intimidate you, refuse to stay silent! Keep praying, cry out to God without ceasing, because persistent prayer produces extraordinary breakthroughs. Do you want to see God’s favor? Do you want to see a turnaround? Then decide to press on in prayer!

Supernatural favor for the watchmen

God is not looking for cowards, He is looking for fighters! Men and women who stand firm in prayer, who will not let go until they see the hand of God move. What you’re longing for, what you’re weeping over, requires unfailing persistence.

Look at the widow in Luke 18. Day after day, she went to see that unjust judge. She didn’t stop at the first rejection, she didn’t give in to discouragement. She kept insisting: “Grant me justice!” And eventually, even that corrupt judge gave in!

If an unjust judge can yield under pressure, how much more will your heavenly Father, just and faithful, intervene for you? When you persist, the enemy gives in! Persistent prayer bends barriers, opens locked doors, and releases what once seemed impossible!

However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth? (Luke 18:8)

But Jesus asks a striking question at the end of this parable:

The real question is this: Will there still be men and women who persist in faith? Not just inside the four walls of a church, but wherever they are. God is looking for watchmen, people who weep for their nation, who intercede for this land, who stand for revival in their families!

The prayer that changes a nation

Do you want to see a miracle in your country? Do you want to see a spiritual and social transformation? Then rise up and become a watchman! God is looking for intercessors who refuse to let their country rot under the grip of darkness.

I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. (Isaiah 62:6)

Where are the watchmen of this generation? Where are those who weep before God for the restoration of their nation? Too often, we settle for complaining instead of praying. Too often, we criticize governments and systems without ever bending the knee to pray for the nation. If only a handful of believers would rise up and become passionate intercessors, everything could change!

Look at Nehemiah! While he was a cupbearer to the king, he heard that Jerusalem was in ruins. He could have said, “That’s not my problem.” But no! He wept, he fasted, he interceded, and he asked to be sent to rebuild the walls.

Because he had the heart of a watchman, God didn’t just answer his prayer—He made him a governor! Do you see how God works? When you pray for a situation greater than your own life, when you intercede for a cause beyond yourself, God lifts you beyond what you ever imagined!

The prayer that transcends your own needs

Many of us are focused on our own problems. You’re praying for your house, your job, your finances, and that’s good! But there’s another dimension: the one where you pray for others, for a people, for a nation!

Look at Abraham. He was old, his wife was barren, and he had no child of the promise. Yet, when Abimelek took Sarah, he didn’t sink into bitterness. He prayed for that man! He interceded for his household to be restored.

The Lord visited Sarah as He had said. (Genesis 21:1)

Abraham could have lamented over his own condition. He could have refused to pray for someone else while he was still waiting for his own promise. But he chose to intercede, and that accelerated his own miracle!

Some of you are waiting for breakthroughs in your lives, but they will only come when you decide to intercede for others.

The key to the double

Job is another powerful example. Crushed by suffering, ruined, sick, he could have sunk into depression. But instead, he prayed for his friends!

After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before. (Job 42:10)

Not only did God restore him, but He gave him double what he had lost!

This is the prayer that brings double favor. It’s not a selfish prayer centered on yourself. It’s a selfless prayer, a prayer that carries the pain of others, that watches over the distress of those who are suffering. It’s a prayer that reflects the very heart of Christ!

Let us pray together

Father, today I decide not to pray only for myself but to intercede according to your heart. Give me the love that weeps for souls, the compassion that does not rest until your kingdom is established. Make me a watchman, an intercessor who does not grow weary in prayer. I reject spiritual laziness, I reject selfishness, I want to be a channel of your favor. In Jesus’ name, I declare that 2025 is a year where I will impact my generation through prayer! Amen!

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I need you. Forgive my sins and transform me. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Fill me with your presence and lead me in your will. Amen.
