Knowing How to Wait on God in Order to Hear Him – Apostle Yvan CASTANOU

Learning to wait on God in order to hear Him

Let all other names fade away. Fear, stress, anxiety, pride, doubt… Everything must disappear until only Jesus remains! Take a moment and reflect: how many distractions are filling your heart and preventing you from hearing His voice? Jesus wants to reign in your life, but have you given Him the place that belongs to Him?

John 10:27 – My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me.

God is speaking. He wants to lead you. But do you know how to listen? Do you know how to wait until His silence becomes a revelation?

It is time to come out of confusion, of groping, and of rushed decisions that land us in traps. It is time to learn to wait on God, so that we can be led by His voice with confidence and precision.

The greatest challenge of this generation is not to pray more, but to listen better. We have developed a culture of spiritual restlessness, without the discipline of waiting. We want immediate answers, instant confirmations, without ever taking the time to align ourselves with God’s pace. Yet, it is in the waiting that faith is forged, in the waiting that the heart is purified, in the waiting that spiritual hearing is sharpened.

Today’s Church is not lacking in preachers; it is lacking in men and women who know how to stop to listen to God. It is not human strategies that build a powerful work, but the ability to hear and obey the Voice of the Lord.

A cry for Jesus to reign

Jesus, take Your place! This is more than a prayer; it’s a posture of the heart. It’s recognizing that everything that has risen up in our lives must bow before Him. Pride must fall. Personal ambition must die. Fleshly calculations must be uprooted. Jesus does not share His reign!

Matthew 28:19-20 – Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations… And behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

He is with those who walk according to His word. If we want to experience the tangible presence of Jesus in our lives and ministries, we must be aligned with His voice.

How many pastors, how many leaders started with passion, only to end up frustrated by the lack of results? Because they went forward without having heard. They thought they were doing the right thing, but God was not in what they undertook. The truth is that CHRIST DOES NOT BACK WHAT HE HAS NOT COMMANDED!

There is a difference between having a vision and having received a specific instruction to act now. God’s call is undeniable, but the call is not enough. Abraham received the call. But had he not continued to listen, he would have sacrificed Isaac for nothing. Just because you started with a word doesn’t mean you should move forward without noticing the new directions God gives you along the way.

The key to success: hearing God

Everything revolves around one central point: HEARING GOD. Failure in life and ministry happens when we build on something other than His voice.

1 Corinthians 2:9-10 – These are things no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has imagined—what God has prepared for those who love Him.

God has already mapped out every plan, every step of your calling. He’s not looking for someone to invent a direction; He’s looking for men and women who catch what He has already prepared.

But in order to catch it, you must be aligned. To be aligned, you must be free of noise. As long as your heart is saturated with fears, selfish desires, useless comparisons, and foolish competition, you’ll only hear your own reasoning. God is a God of revelation, but He does not unveil His secrets to those who do not sanctify their ears to listen to Him.

The price to pay to hear

Wanting to hear God is not enough. There is a price to pay. Are you willing to wait in silence? Are you willing to give up your plans in order to fully embrace His? Are you willing to spend hours before His face without demanding an immediate answer?

Waiting on God is not wasted time. It is the time where He shapes your character, refines your spiritual sensitivity, and equips you so that when His word is released, you are ready to carry it out without hesitation.

Too often, we run after prophecies instead of waiting for God to speak to us directly. Too many servants want a man of God to tell them where to go and what to do, but they don’t want to learn how to hear God for themselves.

John 12:32 – And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to Myself.

Jesus wants to reign and draw souls, but He relies on those who know how to hear Him and obey without compromise.

It is time to stop the guesswork. It is time to end human initiatives. It is time to stand as men and women of His presence, who move forward based on a genuine, “Thus says the Lord,” not a mere, “I thought that…”

Let us pray together

Lord, I refuse to build my life and my ministry on my own reasoning. I want to be led by Your voice and aligned with Your perfect plan. Remove from my heart anything that prevents me from clearly hearing what You are saying. Open my spiritual ears, so that I may no longer walk in confusion. I want to be an effective instrument, useful in Your hands. Lead me on the path You have prepared for me, in Jesus’ name. Amen!

If you have never given your life to Jesus, now is the time.

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I need You. I believe that You died for my sins and that You rose again. Today, I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Transform my life and lead me on Your path. Amen.
